The medical transcription profession has always been changing. The changes we’ve seen over the years have taken us from steno pads, to typewriters, to correcting typewriters, to word processors, computers, and now on to speech recognition technology and the electronic health record. Through all of these changes, medical transcriptionists have risen to the occasion and met the demands to learn new technologies so they can continue to provide excellence in healthcare documentation.
